Insurance
You will be responsible for paying for each session in full prior to your appointment. We can provide a receipt called a “Superbill” that you can submit to your insurer for reimbursement. It typically takes insurance three to six weeks to process your claims.
We are an "outside" or “non-participating” practice and do not interact with insurance companies in any way (including, but not limited to completing paperwork for, or speaking with, any insurance company).
It is understandable for clients to want to use in-network benefits, as using these can save a lot of money. However, be aware that when requesting insurance reimbursement for services from in- network providers, the following apply:
1. A diagnosis is required, and this label will be part of your medical record permanently.
2. Clients' records are not protected, which means that all information about the client, including very personal information, may be obtained by the insurance company.
3. Clients' care is dictated by the insurance company, and the practitioner essentially works for the insurance company, not the client. This can compromise the quality of health services provided.
You may find using the company Thrizer to help manage reimbursements can decrease the stress of submitting receipts. Here's how it works with Thrizer (if you choose not to file claims yourself directly but still want to use OON benefits):
Check Your Benefits: You first have to confirm your OON coverage & estimate your co-pay.
Set Up Your Account: We will email you a link to create a Thrizer account, linking your insurance and payment information.
Payments: We will charge you through Thrizer for appointments, you will pay the full session fee & get reimbursed later (1% Thrizer fee upon reimbursement) no worrying about sending in superbills. You will be directly reimbursed.
Important Notes: Using Thrizer is free if you're working towards your deductible. Please note that using this service is not a guarantee of payment. If you choose to pursue OON reimbursement a diagnosis is also required.
